In Dedication
Our pets teach us so much
if we just take the time to watch and listen...
I would like to dedicate this project
in the memory of a great dog
who passed before her time
from several genetic diseases.
Neither of her parents were screened for genetic diseases
before they were bred,
and so, she, her littermates and mother
were taken back by their breeder
and found good homes.
Several of her littermates also suffer
from similar genetic conditions.

Not only did she suffer,
so did those of us who knew and loved her.
Please test and screen your dogs for genetic illnesses
before you breed them.
If you are going to purchase a puppy,
make sure the breeder screened the parents
before they were bred.
In a very sad way,
Blaze was a great teacher.
